Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, information created through your use of StoryMynd, and technical information needed to keep the service working.

• Account information, such as your email address, name, avatar, authentication identifiers, plan, role, and workspace membership.
• Project and workspace content, such as scripts, books, scenes, outlines, notes, rewrite instructions, project names, formats, statuses, and saved story documents.
• Billing information, such as Stripe customer, subscription, checkout, plan, payment status, and billing event identifiers. Full payment card details are handled by the payment provider.
• Support and contact information, such as messages you send through email, contact forms, or support requests.
• Device, usage, and security information, such as browser data, IP-derived logs, request metadata, cookie/session state, and local browser storage used for app continuity.

How we use information

StoryMynd uses information to provide the website and app, authenticate users, maintain workspaces, save projects, process billing events, respond to support requests, protect the service, and improve product reliability.

We may also use information to enforce our terms, prevent abuse, debug errors, understand service performance, comply with legal obligations, and communicate operational updates about your account or workspace.

Project content and AI workflows

Your scripts, notes, scenes, drafts, and project materials remain your content. We process that content to provide the features you request, such as storing projects, arranging scenes, generating prompt text, parsing rewrite responses, and keeping workspace state available across sessions.

Some current workspace flows help you create prompts and process responses that you may paste back into StoryMynd. You are responsible for content you choose to send to external AI tools outside StoryMynd. If StoryMynd provides direct AI features, submitted context is used to provide the requested feature and maintain the service.

Cookies and local storage

StoryMynd uses cookies and similar browser storage for authentication, session continuity, security, and app functionality. Supabase authentication may set session cookies when you sign in.

The app may also use local browser storage for workspace continuity, including unsaved project state. You can control cookies and local storage through your browser settings, but disabling them may prevent sign-in or workspace features from working correctly.

How we share information

We do not sell your project content. We share information only when needed to operate StoryMynd, follow your instructions, satisfy legal requirements, protect rights and safety, or complete a business transaction such as a merger, financing, or acquisition.

• Service providers that host, store, authenticate, secure, monitor, or support StoryMynd.
• Payment providers that process billing, subscriptions, taxes, fraud checks, disputes, and receipts.
• Support, operations, or legal advisors who need access to help resolve a request or comply with applicable obligations.
• Authorities or third parties when disclosure is required by law or needed to protect StoryMynd, users, or others.

Retention and deletion

We keep information for as long as needed to provide StoryMynd, maintain accounts and workspaces, comply with legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce agreements.

You can contact us to request account or project deletion. Some information may remain in backups, logs, billing records, or records we must retain for legal, security, or financial reasons.

Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so you should use a strong authentication method and protect your account access.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict certain personal information. You may also have the right to object to certain processing or withdraw consent where processing depends on consent.

Children and international use

StoryMynd is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

StoryMynd may process and store information in countries other than where you live. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from your local laws.

Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy as StoryMynd changes. When we make material changes, we will update the date on this page and may provide additional notice when appropriate.
